Competition and Innovation Summer School (CISS)
Since 2009, CISS brings together PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and leading scholars in the fields of competition economics, innovation, and industrial organization for one intensive week of academic exchange — in an inspiring setting on the Montenegrin coast.
What makes CISS different?
CISS is not a traditional conference. Throughout the week, faculty and participants come together in relaxed settings — whether in academic sessions, over shared dinners, or during excursions. It is this informal atmosphere that makes CISS a truly unique experience.
Three types of lectures
Lectures —
Morning lectures by international faculty covering current research frontiers in innovation economics, competition policy, IP rights, and digital markets
Student Workshops —
Small-group sessions where participants present and discuss their own research with faculty discussants, in an informal round-table format.
Research Workshops —
Hands-on sessions on empirical methods and analytical tools, from econometric applications to data-driven competition analysis.
Engage deeply with leading scholars and peers in an inspiring environment.
Registration Fee: 350 EUR
The registration fee includes accommodation in a single room with full board, airport shuttle service, social activities, and access to all sessions and course materials. Travel expenses are not included.
